Venice, Italy is unique in that it is built on 118 islands in the Venetian Lagoon. The islands are separated by canals which act as the "streets" instead of concrete, the main thoroughfare is the Grand Canal. The city is extremely beautiful with many historic buildings, churches and romantic bridges, the entire city of Venice is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.continue reading
